I took myself a Trip down Memory lane by visiting the place of my birth. I was born in the top floor of this tenement building in Glasgow. I lived there until I was 3. It was a surreal experience thinking back to how my mum coped back in the 60’s with a baby and a toddler (my sister). She tells me that she used to leave me, as a young baby, out in my pram to get fresh air. Something you certainly wouldn’t do in todays times.
She used to bump the Silver Cross pram up 2 flights of stairs. A feat in itself when you consider the size of a Silver Cross.
The flat was a 1 room and kitchen. No luxuries like central heating in those days.
